This article has examined the contexts used in expressions that construct the image of the
world in the novel Dunia Uwanja wa Fujo written by Kezilahabi. The article has aimed at
analyzing contexts raised in the expressions used by the writer in constructing the world
image in the novel Dunia Uwanja wa Fujo with relationships obtained in those contexts and
real social environment. The research results have revealed that, there are different contexts
applied in the expressions that construct the image of the world in novel Dunia Uwanja wa
Fujo. Among the contexts found are political context, social context, economic context,
ideological or faith-based context, heroic context, counseling and romantic context. The data
of this article were collected by using the library research method in which the selected novel
involved and its data were picked up. Interview and group discussion methods were another
methods used in collecting data of this article. The article has applied the Reader-Response
theory focussing on its aspect that deals with the contexts of the text through its principle relating to contexts of the text and how they afford to be related and separated by the reader. Likewise, the article has then provided a summary of the novel Dunia Uwanja wa Fujo, explained the importances of the article together with recommendations provided by the writer of this article according to the research conducted about contexts concerned.
