Abstract

The article has assessed the guideline of registration of Pre Packaged Food (Nov, 2018) in the
language use item in product packaging in Zanzibar. Food product packaging in Zanzibar uses various
languages for instructions concerning the item. Data of this article has been derived through text
analysis and interrogation supervisor implementing the guideline. The research sample consists of
products manufactured in Tanzania. This theory of language usage program initiated by Ruiz in 1984
which leads data analysis in this research. This theory has three pillors which are used. The result of
this investigation show that out of 20 food products packaging, it is only 16 products packaging use
the language program initiated however most product packaging in English language because of
English hegemony. According to the result of this investigation I suggest the authority concerned to
give out enough education and take the best measure for all who go opposite of the guideline
instructions on the language use in products packaging.
